Music is in the Air
April's (well April/May) Mixed Media Monday Creative Dare proposed by Tracy Weinzapfel was to choose a song that moves, and inspires you and incorporate it into your work.
I love all types of music from gospel, to rock, to salsa, to bachata, to hiphop... event country! Because I'm bi-lingual, the choices are endless!
I have many favs, which change by season or mood: Third Day (Christian Rock), Group 1 Crew (Christian Hip Hop), Marc Anthony (Salsa Latin Pop), Camila (mexican soft rock), Isreal Houghton, Natalie Grant, (Contemporary Christian), Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary (Gospel), Rene Gonzalez (spanish Christian Contemporary), Prince Royce (bachata, Latin Pop) and I can't forget Prince and Michael Jackson! I can go on and on.
But there is one song that no matter how often I listen to it, I always get goose bumps and teary eyed, and depending on my emotional state, I might even cry in the presence of the Lord in gratitude!!
The song is I Am Not Alone, by Natalie Grant. Here are some of the lyrics, followed by my journal page:
... You are here in my mind
I talk to you and all my fears unwind
I know I'm loved, for who I am, you make me want to be the best that I can
and you walk beside me, giving strength I've never known
And I am not alone, You walk beside me
Oh, I am not alone, Wherever the road leads
And I rely on your patience When I face the unknown
And because of you, I am, I am not alone...
...In the sun, in the rain, Through the good times and in the pain
You're always beside me I reach out for your hand
I know that you understand... I am not alone
Thank you for stopping by!
Enjoy and Be Blessed,
